Sunday mornings during the 10:00 am service, excluding summer and Christmas break
Children are an integral part of the life and community at St. George’s. Children are always welcome to participate in the services. Christ welcomed children who wiggle and giggle and so do we.
At the beginning of the service, all children may go to the front of the church for a children’s talk. They are then invited downstairs for story time and scripture, prayer, crafts and games. Children engage in a meaningful journey through the Old and New Testament in a relaxed and welcoming environment. They learn that God loves them, cares for them and guides them throughout their lives.
Our program is aimed at children ages 3 to 12, though older children are always welcome to help. We are happy to welcome new or visiting children at any time of the year and children are always welcome to bring a friend. Parents may also join the group for part or all of the session if it helps their children to be more comfortable. Children and teachers often come upstairs when they are finished and receive communion or a blessing.
A large focus of our ministry is on giving. In the past, we have donated our Lenten offerings to organizations such as:
Suitcases for Africa banana plantation funding and many other projects
Christian Blind Mission
Houses for Haiti
Mile End after school project
Old Brewery Mission
St. Michael’s Mission
