Bible Study:
One of the best ways to grow spiritually is by
studying God’s word, the Bible.
Christians understand the Bible as God’s
revelation of his great plans and purposes for the salvation of the world. These
plans and purposes God revealed in advance through his chosen people Israel, and
then he brought these plans to completion in Jesus Christ. The centre point of
the Bible is Christ, who is the answer to all our questions and needs. In the
Bible, God tells us how to find salvation, meaning and hope.
What:
Fall 2009: We are offering Christianity
Explored, which looks at who Jesus is and what
his aims are in a relaxed setting. All questions are allowed! This is a video
course with workbook and discussion.
Who:
Anyone who wants to grow spiritually.
Beginners are under no pressure to share with the
group unless they want to, and we stress that there are no right or wrong
answers. We do not assign homework, but encourage participants to prepare in
advance, as this will help everyone get more out of the passage.
When:
Monday
Afternoons at 12:30 pm and Monday Evenings at 7:00 pm.
Home Study:
This
Bible Study is one of St. George's many successful small groups. It is presently
made up of five women of all ages and circumstances who are able to attend a
daytime study more easily than an evening one. Together, we explore the Old and
New Testaments by book or by theme and we also consider how to apply our beliefs
in our family and community lives. It is an intimate, friendly group which
wholeheartedly supports its members in their spiritual growth. All are welcome.
